Description

At more than 2 feet tall this beautiful statue is cast in the traditional lost wax bronze casting method. This allegory of flight carries the French motto “We have the wings to fly over mountain and valley.” A muscular semi-nude guardian angel stands atop symbols of aviation including propeller, wings and pistons, foreshadowing the future in this bronze statue. Sculptor Emile Louis Picault (1833-1915) worked tirelessly producing approximately one thousand exciting bronze sculptures in his lifetime.
