$31,500.00 price_excluding_tax

The End of the Trail, James Earle Fraser’s best known sculpture, has come to symbolize the decimation of the Native American population due to the westward expansion. In 1893, the year of the World’s Columbian Exposition in Chicago, the 15-year old Fraser, then a student of the Art Institute, produced the first version of this bronze sculpture. [The Art Institute sculpture is later modeled and cast] A melancholic commentary on the vanishing Indian, the work portrays an exhausted Sioux drooping on his equally weary pony, both rider and horse, have literally – and figuratively – have reached the end of the trail.

The regular size sculpt by James Fraser was first shown at the Pan-Pacific Exposition in 1915. A powerful and beautiful work of art that will enhance any large outdoor space, this stunning bronze was created in the lost wax bronze casting process one piece at-a-time and hand finished, each one is one of a kind and 100% bronze. This Fraser edition has outstanding detail. This Famous American Handmade Bronze Sculpture by James Earl Fraser is cast in the superior Lost Wax Casting process. Color Choices – We usually cast and finish many of our sculptures with what is referred as multi-color patina. Our bronze sculpture selection may also be customized in a number of fire-applied patinas, such as classic French Brown, Verdigris, Italian Green as well as Gold and other custom finish options. All bronze statuary will develop a natural patina when left in nature’s elements. The aged patina on bronzes is often desired, but if not, can be prevented by care and cleaning of the bronze statue with a mild soap and water and by applying beeswax or other polish to prevent an aged patina from forming. Color selection is more a matter of customer preference.

Please note that all our Bronze Statues / Sculptures sizes Jumbo, Monumental, and Heroic can be made into a fountain if desired. Contact us for prices. Under the Notes / Comments enter the description of where you want the water to come out.
