Description
A farewell kiss is a fairly common theme in 19th century Russian sculpture. This particular composition is actually one of the variants of an earlier sculptural work on this topic by the famous Russian sculptor E.A. Lanceray, “Farewell of a Slav-Cossack woman, departure of a Cossack to the army” (circa 1875), which was inspired by the events of the Russian-Turkish war of 1877-1878. Excellent and detailed quality of bronze casting, life-like representation.
This statue is cast by the superior lost wax method, finished in all brown or multi color patinas and mounted on an optional black marble base (included).
