Description
Polo was Remington’s 11th bronze and the only one that isn’t of a western theme. The 22-inch sculpture of three colliding ponies was recreated in a smooth textural finish, the visual dynamic of sporting competition. “Group of three horses and riders in game of Polo” read Remington’s copyright application for Polo. “One horse has fallen and the rider is caught under him. The 2nd horse and rider are leaping over the fallen man. Third horse is standing with two hind legs upon the belly of the fallen horse”.
This beautiful and finely detailed statue is reproduced in the finest American bronze, finished in dark brown patinas with hand-applied highlights that create natural variations in texture and color and then hand-rubbed to bring out the awesome detail and highlights, making a unique and lasting sculpture that is an original work of art. Therefore, no two statues are exactly alike. The statue is then mounted on an optional marble base with an etched brass nameplate. The incredible detail of each sculpture is a Remington hallmark. 22″H x 20″L. All dimensions are approximate.
