Of all his bronzes, this was Frederic Remington’s own favorite. “The Rattlesnake” is a dynamic achievement of action, danger and Realism permanently suspended in motion. The lean and quick rider lifted out of the saddle, clenches the reins and holds firm his hat with the other hand, as his horse rears away from the rattlesnake just a pulse away. Attention to symmetry and scrupulous detail are effective in this striking bronze. During his term of office, President Ronald Reagan bestowed several bronze castings of “The Rattlesnake” on official visitors to the United States, including one to Soviet Premier Mikhail Gorbachev. We are proud to have our work now on view in important venues across the globe. We have cast this artwork of the finest American bronze, finished in the original dark brown patina and mounted it onto a fine black or green marble base. It is signed “Frederic Remington” in the bronze.
