Victorious Archer, Finest US Lost Wax Bronze Sculpture by Gaudez

The Victorious Archer Sculpture by Gaudez depicts a young man proudly showing off his catch. The archer is dressed in ancient Greek style garb. He is holding his bird above his head and his sling shot by his side. The wind blows back his hair as he looks towards his companions. It seems like this piece captures the moment of his first successful kill.

This beautiful large sculpture by Gaudez is cast in the finest American bronze by the superior lost wax process, finished in golden and brown patinas, hand polished to bring out the awesome details and highlights. Mounted on a black marble base with an etched brass plate that bears the name of the statue and the artist. Marble base on all statues is optional but included, please let us know if you don’t want your statue mounted on a marble base. A wonderful piece for a house entryway.

Color Choices – The standard way we cast many of our sculptures is with what we refer to as multi-color patina. However, we can also make the entire sculpture classic statuary green (verdigris) or brown for a more traditional look. Both patinas are very nice and weather the same. Color selection is more a matter of customer preference. Bronze is forever!

About the artist:

Adrienne Etienne Gaudez was born in Lyon, France, on 2 February 1845. He was a pupil of Francois Jouffroy at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris in 1862. He made his debut at the Paris Salon in 1864. Gaudez worked almost exclusively in bronze and he produced a wide array of sculptures, ranging from genre subjects to military and patriotic themes. His earlier work was mostly of a classical nature but in the latter part of his career he produced some sculpture that can be categorized as art nouveau.
