A fabulous late 19th century Art Nouveau bronze of a beautiful young girl that has been captured by pirates, exhibiting excellent tri-colored patina and very fine detail. Signed Villanis, accurately replicating the original. Handcast in the finest American bronze employing the superior lost wax process to last many lifetimes. 35″H x 11″L. All dimensions are approximate.

This exquisite sculpture is reproduced in the finest American bronze, finished in multi-colored patinas and then hand-rubbed to bring out detail and highlights. The statue is then mounted on a marble base with an etched brass plate. Also available as a lamp.

About The Artist:

Emmanuel Villanis (December 12, 1858 – August 28, 1914) was a French sculptor. He was born in Lille, France, and died in Paris. He studied at the Academia Albertina in Turin. One of his teachers was Odoardo Tabacchi. From 1885, Villanis lived in Paris and became one of the most productive sculptors towards the end of the 19th century. His female bronze busts, cast by the Society de Bronze de Paris, were exported all over the world from Paris, particularly to the United States.
